Housecleaningservices Terms and Conditions
These Terms and Conditions set out the basis on which Housecleaningservices provides domestic and commercial cleaning services in the UK. By making a booking, accepting a quote, or allowing a cleaner to begin work, the customer agrees to be bound by these terms. Please read them carefully before confirming any cleaning appointment.
In these Terms and Conditions, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to the service provider, and “you” or “the customer” refers to the person, business, or organisation that places the booking. These terms apply to all house cleaning services, one-off visits, regular cleaning arrangements, deep cleaning sessions, end-of-tenancy cleans, and any other cleaning service supplied under the Housecleaningservices name.
We may update these terms from time to time. Any updated version will apply to future bookings once published or otherwise notified to you. The version in force at the time your booking is accepted will generally govern that specific service, unless a later change is required by law or agreed in writing.
1. Booking process
Bookings may be made through the channels we make available from time to time, including online enquiry forms, written requests, telephone arrangements, or other approved communication methods. A booking is not confirmed until we have accepted it and, where relevant, received any required deposit or advance payment. We reserve the right to decline a booking where the requested service is unavailable, unsafe, outside the scope of our service, or unsuitable for operational reasons.
When placing a booking for cleaning services, you must provide accurate and complete information, including the service address, property type, access details, preferred service date and time, the type of cleaning required, and any special instructions or known hazards. If the information supplied is incomplete or inaccurate, we may adjust the quote, refuse to begin work, or charge additional fees where extra time or materials are needed.
We will usually confirm accepted bookings in writing or by another recorded method. Any estimate or quotation provided before booking is based on the information available at the time and may be revised if the actual condition of the property differs materially from what was described. The final service scope may also be adjusted on site if the cleaner identifies circumstances that make the originally agreed task incomplete, unsafe, or impractical within the booked time.
For recurring housecleaningservices, the schedule will be arranged in advance wherever possible. Changes to repeat visits, such as day, time, or frequency, may require reasonable notice and are subject to availability. Where access is not possible at the agreed time, or the premises are not ready for cleaning, the visit may be treated as a late cancellation or a wasted attendance, and charges may apply.
It is your responsibility to ensure that the property is ready for cleaning and that the cleaner can safely access all agreed areas. You should secure valuables, confidential documents, fragile items, and any belongings you do not wish to be handled. We are not responsible for cleaning areas that are inaccessible, excessively cluttered, or hidden by furniture, fixtures, or stored items unless specifically agreed in advance.
2. Payments
Fees for house cleaning services UK are payable in accordance with the price agreed at the time of booking or as subsequently revised by agreement. Prices may be based on hourly rates, fixed-service fees, or a combination of both. Unless otherwise stated, all quoted prices are exclusive of any additional charges arising from extra labour, special materials, parking restrictions, waiting time, access issues, or services requested after booking confirmation.
Payment is due by the method and on the schedule notified to you before the service begins. In some cases, we may require full prepayment, a deposit, or payment on completion. Where payment is not made when due, we reserve the right to suspend future services, withhold the start of a booking, or charge reasonable costs incurred in recovering outstanding sums, to the extent permitted by law.
You must ensure that all payment information provided is accurate and that sufficient funds or credit are available. If a card payment or bank transfer is declined, reversed, or later disputed without valid reason, we may request immediate settlement by an alternative method. Any discount, offer, or promotional rate applies only where clearly stated and may be withdrawn or varied for future bookings.
3. Cancellations and rescheduling
You may cancel or reschedule a booking by giving us notice within the timeframe stated at the time of booking. If no specific timeframe is provided, reasonable notice must be given. Where sufficient notice is given, we will usually try to offer an alternative appointment subject to availability. Cancellation outside the agreed notice period may result in a charge, particularly where time has been reserved exclusively for you or costs have already been incurred.
If you cancel a service after cleaners have already been dispatched, arrived on site, or begun work, you may be charged for the time spent and any reasonable travel or administration expenses. For larger or repeated contracts, different cancellation rules may apply and will be confirmed in writing when the booking is accepted. We may also cancel or postpone a visit where access is unsafe, conditions are unsuitable, or payment terms have not been satisfied.
We will use reasonable efforts to notify you if we need to change or cancel an appointment. However, we are not liable for delays or cancellations caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including severe weather, accidents, illness, transport disruption, or emergencies. In such cases, we may offer a rearranged visit, a partial refund where appropriate, or another reasonable remedy at our discretion and in accordance with applicable law.
4. Service standards and customer responsibilities
We will provide domestic cleaning services with reasonable skill and care and in accordance with the service scope agreed at booking. Unless explicitly stated, our service does not include lifting heavy items, moving furniture, dealing with bodily fluids, removing mould without specialist instruction, handling dangerous materials, or carrying out repairs. If you require a task that falls outside standard cleaning, it must be agreed in advance and may be subject to an additional charge.
You must notify us before the service begins of any known hazards, including loose wiring, fragile surfaces, pest activity, medical risks, broken glass, asbestos concerns, or areas affected by contamination. You must also inform us of any pets, security systems, or access restrictions that may affect the visit. If the cleaner reasonably believes that continuing work would create a risk to health, safety, or property, they may stop the service immediately without liability for any resulting incomplete tasks.
5. Liability
We will take reasonable care when carrying out housecleaningservices, but liability is limited to the extent permitted by law. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under UK law. Subject to that, we are not responsible for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, including loss of profit, loss of opportunity, or loss of business.
We are not liable for damage caused by pre-existing faults, wear and tear, unstable fixtures, poorly maintained surfaces, items that are fragile or improperly installed, or items that were not reasonably capable of being cleaned without risk. We are also not responsible for damage resulting from information withheld by the customer, from the use of unsuitable cleaning products supplied by you, or from instructions that conflict with manufacturer guidance or known safety advice.
If you believe damage has occurred during a clean, you must notify us as soon as reasonably possible and in any event within a reasonable time after the service. You should keep the affected item available for inspection. Our assessment may include photographs, description of the task performed, and, where needed, a review of the materials, instructions, and conditions present at the property. Any remedy will be limited to reasonable repair, replacement, or refund as determined in accordance with the law and the facts of the case.
6. Waste regulations and disposal
Our cleaning services are not intended to replace licensed waste collection or specialist disposal services. We will only handle and remove waste items to the extent expressly agreed and only where doing so is lawful and safe. Waste, rubbish, and unwanted items must be separated from general cleaning tasks unless the service description clearly includes disposal. You remain responsible for compliance with all applicable waste rules relating to your property and the items located there.
We will not remove hazardous waste, clinical waste, sharps, chemicals, asbestos, gas canisters, paint tins containing residues, electrical waste requiring separate collection, or any other regulated material unless specifically agreed and lawfully permitted. If such items are discovered during the service, we may suspend work until the hazard is addressed. Any attempt to dispose of restricted waste without proper authority may breach environmental or safety obligations and may lead to refusal of service.
You must ensure that any waste requiring disposal is correctly identified, stored, and presented for lawful removal. Where a service includes the removal of ordinary household waste, you confirm that you are entitled to authorise that removal and that the waste does not contain restricted, dangerous, or confidential contents. We may charge extra for bagging, sorting, transporting, or loading waste where this is outside the normal cleaning scope.
7. Property access, keys, and items left on site
Where you provide keys, codes, or other access methods, you must ensure they are accurate and working. We will take reasonable steps to keep access information secure and to use it only for the purpose of providing the agreed service. If keys are lost due to our proven negligence, our responsibility will be limited to reasonable replacement costs, subject to the limits set out in these terms and any applicable insurance arrangements.
We may decline to accept responsibility for unattended cash, jewellery, highly valuable items, or confidential materials unless we have specifically agreed to do so in writing. Customers are advised to remove or secure such items before the cleaner arrives. We do not accept responsibility for lost items unless loss is shown to have been caused by our negligence and the item was reasonably expected to be present and accessible during the service.
If items are found that appear valuable, sensitive, or potentially hazardous, we may leave them in place, set them aside, or report the matter to you where appropriate. We will not move items that could reasonably be expected to cause damage, injury, or legal concern if handled without proper instruction.
8. Governing law and general terms
These Terms and Conditions, and any dispute or claim arising from or connected with them, are governed by the laws of England and Wales unless another part of the UK lawfully applies to the service location or the parties agree otherwise in writing. The courts with appropriate jurisdiction in the UK will have authority to determine any dispute that cannot be resolved informally.
If any provision of these terms is found to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, that provision will be treated as modified or removed to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue in full force. No failure or delay by us in enforcing any right will be treated as a waiver of that right. Any variation must be agreed in writing or otherwise recorded by us.
These terms form part of the agreement between you and Housecleaningservices for each booking. They are intended to be fair, clear, and consistent with applicable consumer and business law. By proceeding with a booking, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to the terms governing your house cleaning services arrangement.
